Happy New Year everybody. 2011 was so amazing for Yvonne Lorraine photography, the year in which My Newborn Portrait was founded and the bookings really came in thick and fast. I hope to see so many more beautiful newborn babies in 2012... totally and utterly the best part of my job is getting a little cuddle :o)

Patience is all that's required for a newborn photo shoot. When photographing newborn babies you need to be prepared to spend three to four hours at the customers home. Just relax and make the most of the opportunity to get to know the mum and dad. Once you start chatting the baby will soon drift off into a heavy sleep and you can begin the session. You will need a good eye for posing and some lovely colour co-ordinated items will help too. Here are my favourites of little Rosa.

I'm really loving my newborn portrait business. Sessions are a relaxed three to four hours, in the customers home, where I get to chat to mum (and sometimes dad) while I work with their baby. The resultant images are little works of art...here are my favourites from Imogen's session...
