I am absolutely delighted to have passed my Associateship with the Master Photographers Association. It has taken me nearly a year to hone my work and to be able to travel up to Darlington and present 20 of my finest images was certainly one of the proudest moments of my life. To see them all up on the wall for judging and then to be told that I had passed with flying colours - well! I must admit t have let a tear or two escape.

Laura and Mark were married at St Mary's Church, Matching and then held their reception at the fabuous Down Hall. Laura also chose to get ready at Down Hall, which always makes for the most amazing "getting ready" shots. It really pays to use a venue for the early morning as well as the rest of the day. I had so much fun with Flowers and chairs and fireplaces and props at this venue. Here are just a few of my favourites...

This involved months of preparation, waiting for the right models and then creating 20 pieces of artwork to be judged by a panel of 5 judges.

The rain was torrential when Claire arrived at the church, but it made for some really fun shots of the groomsmen. Patience is all that's required for a newborn photo shoot. When photographing newborn babies you need to be prepared to spend three to four hours at the customers home. Just relax and make the most of the opportunity to get to know the mum and dad. Once you start chatting the baby will soon drift off into a heavy sleep and you can begin the session. You will need a good eye for posing and some lovely colour co-ordinated items will help too. Here are my favourites of little Rosa.

I met a wonderful couple yesterday who came in for maternity portraits at 37 weeks, just three weeks before their little one was due to be born. They wanted something a little different to the standard maternity portraits that you often see generated. So I used my award winning digital art style and created some choices for them. I hope they love them for years to come...

Yerbury training seminar

Wow! Yesterday I attended a Yerbury training seminar for wedding photography. The Yerbury name and brand has existed since 1874 and it was delicious to experience some classical bridal posing and portraiture. We weren't allowed to photograph the bride models (who incidentally were gorgeous!) per se, but here are my favourite 2 shots I took from the side lines.
